The American School of Puerto Vallarta celebrated Mexico’s independence with the theme “Soy Puro Mexicano”. With performances from our Primary students, the celebration was filled with color and joy. Our fourth graders, led by Miss Rocío, presented “La danza de los concheros” inspired by the Aztec or Mexica cultures. Representing the State of Jalisco, our second graders, led by Miss Fidela, danced  “El Jarabe Tapatío” and “El Son de la Negra.” Our sixth graders dramatized the Ceremony of the Independence “Grito”, leading the school in the celebration. Their presentation culminated with the performance “Mexico Remezclado,” led by Miss Lauda. The event ended with the Gallegos Mariachi’s interpretation of “Soy puro mexicano”,  “El mariachi loco” and  “Cielito Lindo,” as well as “Las Mañanitas” to celebrate those with September birthdays.
