My name is Jack. I’m 19 years old, and a senior at the American School of Puerto Vallarta. I am also the director for Student Talks in Mexico.

Best explained by our vision statement, Student Talks is “A platform used to shape a new generation of independent thinkers, who will solve the challenges of tomorrow. To face this difficult task, students need an alternative source of knowledge, one that breaks with traditional ways of learning. And this is where we come in. We connect inspirational people with those, who have an unfulfilled potential to impact the world in a positive way. Our goal is simple and humble: entertain everyone – inspire some – change the lives of few.” We empower students through peer to peer public speaking and bringing in entrepreneurial villages with companies started by and run by youth.

This year we had the first Student Talks event in Mexico with around 200 people physically attending, and 400 more over Livestream. Here are their talks!

Through series of applications, we chose five students to train as public speakers and invited them to present their motivational talks to the audience. This was the first complete high school run Student Talks event in the world, and based on the feedback and interest of the audience in pursuing a job in ST later next year, one of the best so far.

Next year, we plan on having an audience with at least 1000 people here in Puerto Vallarta. This would mean the largest Student Talks event yet. Furthermore, we would like to invite students from schools from all over Mexico to apply via this link to work as a speaker for next year or setting up their own event in your school:

Feel free to reach out to me with any questions. I would love to work on setting up a relationship between your school and Student Talks: Mexico. You can learn more about Student Talks on their website here:
